An Hour of Prayer

Prayer is a high priority to us at Living Faith. In our Basics of Prayer resource, we outline 12 practices of prayer. Anyone can put these principles into practice and gain greater confidence in the practice of prayer. In fact, if you were to spend just five minutes on each of these habits of prayer you would have invested one hour into a Biblical pattern of prayer. The video below does exactly that, it walks through an hour of prayer using each of the twelve habits.

Pray First

To start this year off strong we must pray. We do not need to talk about how to pray. We do not need to read about how to pray. We need to actually pray. In this week’s message from Pastor Matt we see how Jesus and the apostles demonstrate for us the value of having a certain time, a certain place, and a certain plan to pray.

Our Prayer Covenant

Luke 18:1 – And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

  1. We thank God for the continued unity of the body of Christ in Living Faith Christian Church.
  2. We pray for an ever-increasing anointing on Pastor Matthew and his family as well as all those who have entered into this prayer covenant – and all their families as well.
  3. We pray for the manifestation of God’s glory in our midst along with an ever-increasing openness in us to the way God chooses to manifest that glory.
  4. We pray to speak only blessings into people’s lives and to speak evil of no one.
  5. We pray that we would continually grow to be more like Jesus.

Matthew 18:19 – Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

The Foundation of Prayer

The Bible book of Acts reveals what God desires His church to look like. His church is marked by miracles, devotion, and community. Acts 2:42 reveals four foundations of a healthy church.
